FAQs

What type of clients do you represent?

Pepperbooks specializes in representing clients working in modern poetry.

What are your guidelines on submissions?

A synopsis. Please provide a concise and comprehensive summary of the work you are submitting to us.
Sample material. Please submit at least 10 poems or 20 pages from your completed manuscript.

A literary CV. Please indicate if you have had any works previously published (self-published included), your social media following across ALL platforms, or any other notable literary recognition.

Do I qualify to submit a manuscript?

If you are interested in publishing a poetry book, then we commend your aspiration and dedication. Currently, publishers are primarily looking for poetry authors that have established social media followings. Therefore, before submitting a manuscript to us, we recommend that you start to post your poetry on a social media platform and build an audience that resonates with your work.

If you have already taken this step and have at least 30,000 followers on one social media platform, then you are welcome to send your manuscript to us.

Do you accept traditional poetry manuscripts?

We accept all poetry manuscripts, both traditional and modern. Please keep in mind; however, our focus is modern poetry or otherwise known as pop poetry, instapoetry.

Do you consider work by debut writers?

Absolutely, yes. We welcome the opportunity to work with new writers.

Can I inquire about the status of my submission?

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to status inquiries.

What are your response times?

On average, our response times are three to eight weeks. However, due to the high volume of submissions we receive daily, we cannot guarantee a response. If you haven’t received a response within 8 weeks of submission, please assume that we are not interested in your project. Unfortunately, we receive a high volume of poetry manuscripts which forces us to be extremely selective.

What is the best way to approach one of your clients regarding publicity requests?

Please email all requests to byron@pepperbooks.org and provide the name of the author you are enquiring about.

I have a question. Can I call to get my answer?

No. Email is our main method of communication. Any questions you have not covered in this FAQ, please send them to byron@pepperbooks.org or james@pepperbooks.org
